Strike 5/5; Surface 5/5. A lightly toned silver denarius of Macrinus struck at the Rome Mint, 1st emission, circa AD 217. The obverse features the laureated and cuirassed bust of Macrinus facing right. The reverse features Salus seated left, holding scepter and a patera, feeding a serpent rising from altar. RIC IV 86; Clay Issue 1; RSC 116a. (17mm, 2.76 g, 11h).
