Are you a Morgan dollar enthusiast who wants to acquire the simply finest available pieces for your collection? And would you like to own a coin that is so brilliant, so striking—that you may even gasp when you take it out of your coin box? Well, then you’d better sit down and take a careful look at this offering from AUCM. Look at the icy frost on the devices and the deep, watery pools in the fields.

The original mintage of the 1881-S was 12,760,000. However, in Deep Mirror Proof Like there have only been 1,220 pieces graded by PCGS. Even better, this specimen, the one being offered to you, is one of only 7 graded MS67DMPL by PCGS with a single finer piece (in MS68DMPL). Just imagine owning this drop-dead gorgeous coin—and enjoying it for many years to come.

David Bowers tells us of the 1881-S: "Usually very sharply struck on all points, remarkable in view of the huge mintage figure of 12,760,000. In general, the San Francisco Mint earned high marks for quality...typically with satiny lustre, often slightly prooflike." Similarly, silver dollar expert Wayne Miller reports, "...most 1881-S dollars are surprisingly uniform in the excellence of their strike, and the brilliance of their luster."
