It was in the year 2021 that the U.S. Mint started the modern Morgan Silver Dollar series. That was in order to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the end of the original series in 1921. The year 2022 saw a shortage in silver blanks necessary to strike the coins; therefore no Morgan dollars carrying that date were struck. However, in 2023 the United States Mint resumed striking .999 fine modern Morgan Dollars.

This offering from AUCM represents the first proof .999 fine Morgan Dollar issued as part of the modern version of this ever popular coin series. This modern series presents the original designs by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Charles T. Morgan.

As expected from coins struck at the San Francisco Mint, this proof coin features an exceptionally sharp strike, frosted devices and deeply mirrored fields. All of that gives you sensational eye appeal. The coin is struck from 0.859 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver with a diameter of 38.10 mm. Mintage of this modern proof Morgan dollar was limited to 400,000.
