1932 $10 Indian Head Eagle CACG MS64+
This coin is a masterwork of numismatic art. There is no other way to describe the design upon Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ Indian Head Eagle (1907-1933). 1932 was the penultimate year of this ever-popular series, and collectors who seek a type coin should take a careful look at this piece, for the final year (1933) is virtually impossible to acquire.
The obverse design was a collaboration between Augustus Saint-Gaudens and President Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt used his bully pulpit with the sculptor-medalist, demanding that he add the Indian feather headdress to make the coin iconically American. CACG has graded 3 as MS64+ with 6 finer. Collectors Universe prices this issue at $2,750.00.
