     We at AUCM are happy to present for consideration both an affordable type coin and a coin celebrating its centennial: the 1921-D Morgan dollar graded PCGS MS66! Yes, it was 100 years ago that this coin was struck at the Denver mint. In fact, the 1921-D is the only Morgan dollar that was ever produced at the branch mint in Denver, Colorado. This affordable type coin would be great in 4-piece short set of 1921 dollars, including the 1921 Peace dollar and the 1921 Morgan dollars minted in Philadelphia and San Francisco. Or you could include it in a set along with other coins, either circulated or mint state, that were produced in 1921.

      The Morgan dollar is the most popular collectable coin of numismatists. It was struck from 1878 to 1904--and then again in 1921. However, since all of the dies from the earlier run of Morgan dollars were destroyed, George T. Morgan, who at the time was serving as the chief engraver at the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia, had to craft completely new dies from which to strike the 1921 silver dollars. Take a look at the images of this coin. It is similar, however very different from the previous run of Morgan dollars.
