This is a beautiful and quite desirable coin in its full red designation from PCGS. Out of its original (and massive) mintage of 53,598,000, only 871 have been designated "Red." And from among those, there are just 126 graded MS66RD by PCGS, with 113 finer (as of 5/2021). Plus the coveted green CAC sticker gives this piece added value and cachet. This is a cherished Registry Set piece in its assigned grade, one that numismatists who desire quality examples will want to count among their collection. The sophisticated collector knows beauty and rarity when he or she sees it. Wouldn't this stunning, full mint red example be an amazing addition to your numismatic portfolio?

1899 1C Indian Head Cent PCGS MS66RD (CAC) from an original roll-!

We at AUCM are delighted to present this striking specimen of American history to the collecting community: a blazing red example of an 1899 Indian Head cent in MS66RD (CAC). This would be the perfect addition to a full set of mint state Indian Head cents, a type set of Large and Small cents from throughout U.S. history, or a great "stand-alone" coin to have in your collection.

Its design is quintessentially American. The obverse presents a young female head of Liberty, facing left, hair covering her neck, bedecked with an Indian headdress of eagle feathers. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA surrounds her at the rim, with the date at the bottom. The reverse features an oak wreath and Union shield with ONE CENT within the wreath. Numismatic art scholar Cornelius Vermeule writes of this series, "the Indian Head cent [achieved] the blessing of popular appeal. The coin became perhaps the most beloved and typically American of any piece great or small in the American series. Great the coin was not, but it was one of the first products of the U.S. mints to achieve the common touch and to identify itself with the transitions from frontier to industrial to social expansion during its decades of circulation, from 1860 to 1930."
